"Nothing can be done except little by little."
-Charles Baudelaire
"Virtual"
volunteer opportunities can be completed from any remote
location with a
computer and Internet connection. The Partnership for the Global
Advancement of Technology (PGAT) virtual
volunteering program gives individuals who want to help an
opportunity to assist organizations throughout the world by
creating websites for them. Websites are typically around 3-9
pages and take around 8 hours to complete, although time
commitment varies
along with ability level and project specifications. PGAT websites give organizations global
reach and a mechanism for to explain their purpose.
Why should
I spend my time volunteering?
Sadly, many organizations do not
have the money, resources, or manpower to create an Internet
website. It is for these organizations that PGAT was
founded.
We know that organizations need to spend their time, money, and effort on
the causes they are here to help, not on making websites. Thus,
they need your help.
Who can
volunteer? All
interested and motivated individuals with basic website development ability
can volunteer.
How can
I begin?
If you are interested in
volunteering virtually, please fill out the
application so that PGAT can partner you with an
organization in need of your assistance. Every approved
organization and project has met PGAT committee standards.
